This is a special ministry that looks after the chancel area of our Sanctuary, including the Altar. Members of this ministry take care of setting up for Holy Communion as well as cleaning up afterward. Paraments are changed according to the church calendar, and Altar linens are washed and pressed when necessary. The banners may be changed two or three times a year depending on the church season.
We (and anyone else who wants to help!) make palm crosses for Palm Sunday, and Advent corsages for the first Sunday in Advent. Poinsettias are purchased for Christmas, Easter flowers for Easter Sunday, and Carnations for Mother’s Day. We keep the Altar candles topped up with candle oil and are also responsible for maintaining the Christmas Eve candles.
